The Great Australian Bake Off

The ultimate kitchen battle erupts as 10 contestants have their baking skills put to the test, in the hope of being crowned Australia's Best Home Baker. Hosted by Shane Jacobson and Anna Gare, together with judges Dan Lepard and Kerry Vincent.

The competition kicks off with a bake off in which the contestants have to bake their signature lamingtons, a pear and amaretto cake and an ombre cake to impress the judges.
The contestants are tested on their biscuit-baking skills. And lo, some of them turn up with impressive samples, such as blue cheese, garlic and chive biscuits and biscuits themed on famous landmarks.
Pies & Tarts
The remaining contestants are tasked with preparing delicious quiches, pies and tarts. They come up with a mouthwatering spread, which includes bacon and asparagus quiche and beef taco quiche.

As the final looms, the remaining contestants are tasked with preparing tasty pastry-based dishes. They come up with delicious ones such as underwater turtle and persimmon pillows.
Sweet Dough
The contestants fighting to enter the next round are tasked with preparing dishes using sweet dough. They come up with scrumptious ones like blueberry finger buns and spicy babkas.
The contestants fighting to enter the final must make cheesecakes with a global background, souffles and around-the-world cakes in the signature, technical and showstopper challenges.
The three finalists try to win by making opera cakes in the signature challenge, candied orange and ricotta sfogliatelle in the technical challenge and desserts in the showstopper challenge.
Our ten remaining bakers will put their best feet forward for choux pastry, baking éclairs for Signature, a technically demanding Paris Brest and a beautiful Gateau St Honore Showtopper.
The nine remaining bakers face a signature challenge to reinvent the iconic Australian pie, a tantalising Technical Bake of blood orange and chocolate meringue pie, and a Showstopper deep dish fruit pie.
Our 8 remaining bakers have reached midway and will take on a classic Signature of brownies, a frustrating technical of the legendary Black Forest Gateau and a triple threat Showstopper Chocolate Medley.
The seven remaining bakers taking on a Signature challenge of savoury flat breads, a Technical challenge of baking knotted bread rolls and a Showstopper stolen bread. Who will rise to the challenge?

This week the final five roll out their pastry skills, facing a Signature challenge of miniature savoury pastries, Maggie's Technical mushroom, thyme and leek pithivier recipe, and a Showstopping strudel.
The remaining 4 bakers take on the classics; doughnuts for the Signature challenge, a passion-filled Technical challenge of Passionfruit Tart, and a High Tea Showstopper that will push them to new heights.
Over 9 weeks, 12 of Australia's finest home bakers undertook a series of baking challenges and now 3 remain. This epic will test the finalists to new limits. Who will be crowned Bake Off champion?
